Common Questions » Hours-of-Service Regulations

What Trucks are Covered by HOS Regulations?

Generally speaking, federal hours-of-service regulations apply to commercial truck drivers operating tractor-trailer trucks and 18-wheelers that weigh more than 10,000 pounds, have a gross vehicle weight rating of at least 10,000 pounds or are transporting materials in a quantity requiring placards and involved in either interstate or intrastate commerce. A vehicle can be a commercial motor vehicle based on its actual weight or its weight rating—whichever is greater. At Arnold & Itkin LLP, we understand hours-of-service regulations and all of the other nuances related specifically to truck accident claims in the U.S. With our experience and knowledge in this field, we are ready, willing and able to handle your claim.
